This policy explains what PathPro AI ("PathPro AI", "we", "us") collects when you use the PathPro AI app and our website, pathproai.app (the "Service"), how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have.
1. Information We Collect
We collect:
- Account information: your email address and name. If you sign in with Apple or Google, we get your name and email address from them, and from Google, a link to your profile picture. We also log the IP address and device of each sign-in.
- Profile details: your age range or date of birth, city and country, education and work background, and, if you add them, your gender and a profile photo.
- Questionnaire answers: your goals, interests, strengths, and work and learning preferences, and your Thinking Style result.
- Location: if you tap to use your current location, the app reads your approximate location to find your city. We keep only your city and country.
- What you write or upload for feedback: resumes, job posts, interview practice answers, and your answers, journal and project work in lessons and daily tasks. You can add a resume or job post as text or a photo, and a resume as a PDF. We do not store the photos or PDF files, but we keep your resume text, the jobs you save or work on, and your answers on your account.
- Career matches and progress: the careers we suggest, your learning plan, the lessons you finish, and your streaks, badges and challenge scores.
- Feature Requests board: your posts, comments and votes, and any reports or blocks you make. Everyone using the app can see your posts and comments with your name, unless you post or comment anonymously.
- Purchases: whether you have PathPro+, your plan and its price, and when it started, renews or ends. Apple handles payment, so we never see your card details.
- Usage and device data: through Mixpanel, what you do in the app (like finishing a lesson or buying PathPro+), your device model, system and app version, and your approximate city and country, worked out from your IP address. Mixpanel links this to your account ID, email address, name and Thinking Style result.
- Crash and performance data: through Sentry, error details, how the app performed, your device and app version, your account ID, and a short log of what the app was doing, which can include your email address or location.
The app also keeps some of your data on your phone, like your progress and recent results, so it opens fast. Reminders are set on your phone, not sent from our servers.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Find careers that fit you and build your learning plan
- Give feedback on what you write and upload (see section 3)
- Run your account, sign-in and PathPro+ subscription
- Show your posts and comments on the Feature Requests board
- Send sign-in codes and, if you joined the waitlist, the launch email
- Send you reminders about your lessons and the end of a free trial, if you allow notifications
- Answer you when you contact us
- Fix problems, keep the Service secure, stop abuse, and see which features people use
We do not sell your personal information or use it for ads.
3. AI Processing
PathPro AI uses OpenAI to suggest careers, build your plan and give feedback. The app asks for your permission before it sends anything to OpenAI. You can turn AI features off at any time in Profile → AI features. Then nothing more is sent to OpenAI unless you agree again.
With your permission, OpenAI receives:
- Your questionnaire answers, including your first name, age and city, to find your career matches and study programs and to build your plan
- Your answers and project work in lessons and daily tasks, your interview practice answers, the careers you search for, and what you write for the Feature Requests board, to give feedback or check it before it posts
- Resumes you add, to read and review them
- Job posts you add, to check how well you fit and to write tailored resumes, cover letters and interview questions
We send these through our own server and do not attach your account ID or email address. OpenAI does not use them to train its models, and may keep them for up to 30 days to check for abuse. Please leave out anything you would rather not share, like ID numbers or health details.
Before you sign in, we use your IP address to limit how often the AI can be used, to stop abuse.
4. Third-Party Service Providers
These providers process data for us:
- Supabase: our database, sign-in and file storage, on servers in the United States. It holds your account and what you save in the app.
- OpenAI: runs our AI features. It receives what section 3 lists.
- RevenueCat: manages PathPro+ subscriptions. It receives your account ID and your App Store purchases.
- Mixpanel: usage analytics. It receives the usage and device data in section 1, your IP address, and your account ID, email address and name.
- Sentry: crash and performance reports. It receives the crash and performance data in section 1.
- Resend: sends our sign-in code emails and keeps the website waitlist. It receives your email address.
- Expo: delivers app updates. Each time the app checks for one, Expo receives a random install ID and your IP address.
- OpenStreetMap Foundation (Nominatim): turns a place you type, or your phone's location, into a city name. It receives what you type or your approximate location, and your IP address.
- Vercel: hosts our website. It receives your IP address and browser details when you visit, and passes waitlist sign-ups to Resend.
These providers protect your data at least as well as this policy does. They use it to provide their service to us, not for advertising, and they do not sell it.
These services follow their own privacy policies:
- Apple and Google sign-in: if you sign in with Apple or Google, they share your name and email address with us. Apple also handles App Store payments.
- YouTube: PathPro AI uses YouTube API Services to suggest videos for your lessons. Our server searches YouTube by lesson topic and sends nothing that identifies you. Thumbnails load from YouTube and videos open on YouTube, so Google receives your IP address. See the Google Privacy Policy.
- Unsplash and LottieFiles: some pictures and animations in the app load from them, so they receive your IP address.
When you open a link to another site, like a course or a job site, that site's own privacy policy applies. We may also share information when the law requires it, or to protect the safety of our users and the Service.
5. Data Security
Your data is encrypted in transit and at rest. The keys to our AI and video providers stay on our servers, not in the app. No way of sending or storing data is completely secure.
6. Data Retention & Account Deletion
We keep your data while your account is open. You can delete your account at any time in the app, in Profile → Account Actions → Delete Account, or by emailing us at support@pathproai.app.
Deleting your account removes it and all its data from our database and file storage, including your board posts and comments, your resume text and your profile photo. Copies in our backups are gone within 30 days, unless the law requires us to keep something longer.
Copies held by Mixpanel (analytics), Sentry (crash reports) and RevenueCat (subscriptions) follow those providers' retention periods. Deleting your account does not yet remove your Mixpanel profile, which holds your email address and name. Email support@pathproai.app and we will delete it, and your RevenueCat record too.
Deleting your account does not cancel PathPro+. Cancel it first in Profile → Subscription → Manage Subscription or in your iPhone's Settings, or Apple will keep billing you.
7. Your Rights
Depending on where you live (for example, under GDPR or CCPA), you may have the right to:
- See the personal data we hold about you
- Correct it
- Delete it
- Get a copy of it in a portable format
- Withdraw your consent, for example by turning off AI features
- Opt out of marketing emails
You can change most of your details yourself in Profile → Edit Profile. For anything else, email us at support@pathproai.app.
8. Cookies & Analytics
Our website does not use cookies, analytics or ad trackers. Apart from Vercel, which hosts it, no other parties collect information about your activity on our website, or across other sites, through it.
In the app, we use Mixpanel only to see how people use PathPro AI (see section 1). The app does not track you across other companies' apps or websites, and it shows no ads.
9. Website Waitlist
If you join the waitlist on our website, we collect your email address and whether you want the iPhone or Android version. Resend stores them for us. We use them only to tell you when PathPro AI launches. To stop these emails, use the unsubscribe link in the email. To have your email address deleted, email us at support@pathproai.app.
10. International Data Transfers
Our providers store and process data in the United States and other countries. If you live outside the United States, your data is transferred there. We protect it as this policy describes wherever it is processed.
11. Children's Privacy
PathPro AI is for people 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy. When we make important changes, we will update the date at the top and, where appropriate, let you know in the app.
